If it's an older laptop with an unsupported graphics chipset in win10 then it wont have proper acceleration, and probably be using some default microsoft display driver. Other than trying to install the last OS compatible driver in compatibility mode, which may or may not work correctly, you're probably screwed. I don't like Win10 at all so I'm sticking with 8.1 with start8.

Did you try to change the Colors to 32-bit...
If the options are the original exe, which seems to be, it won't let you select resolutions with 16-bit color.

Yes... but resolution still can't be chosen. Options therefore can't be saved.
I gather I just need a new graphics card that win 10 supports!
