 What up, Eden!
...oh, sorry about that.
I figured since I'll be contributing to the cmode section of Eden and probably playing a lot on here, I might as well introduce myself formally. I've been playing BB for about 3 years now, and most recently got bored while playing MA4C and heard about the source for Tethealla being available. So, I perused through it, noticed cmode needed to be added, and decided to try that undertaking. 2 1/2 weeks later, with the help of Choko and a few others, we now have a somewhat working version of cmode, which I hope I can say is FULLY working in the near future.
Other than that, I plan on trying my hand at adding some other features into the Teth source, which may very well make their way onto Eden. If you see me in game I may very well be down for some runs, cmode or not.
...so...uh...yeah. Hope to play with you guys soon. Hello Eden!

 Re: What up, Eden!
HI there, my name is Jay and I am a regular player of Eden, hoever I have no idea what C mode is or how it makes any difference to the game. Just call me Dumbass if you like, but for all people not technically superior like myself, could you please enlighten us as to what this is and what it does!
Im hoping it's some sort of game enhancement but I might be wrong.
Many thanks.

 Re: What up, Eden!
Basically Challenge Mode is a separate game mode from normal mode where you start out at a set level with set items, and your goal is to complete whatever stage you are on with the best time. As such, you don't carry over items/levels from normal mode, and you have to rely on what you find in the stage to get you through. Depending on the stage you start out with a limited amount of scape dolls and healing items, and in the later stages, your Force starts out with Resta level 3 (high enough to heal the party).
If any of your party members use up all of their scape dolls and then die, then you have to restart the stage you are on. Once a stage is completed, however, your time is saved. Normally you would have to complete each stage in order for an episode to complete it and receive the prize, however there is a glitch for the actual game that allows you to bypass that, and as such the limitation for what stage to start on has been removed. For Episode 1, there are 9 stages, starting with 1c1 (Forest 1, 2, and Dragon) going all the way up through 1c9 (Ruins 3 areas, repeated, and then Dark Falz). For Episode 2, there are 5 stages, with 2c1 (Temple Alpha and Beta, and Barba Ray) through 2c4 (Seabed Upper and Lower, Olga Flow) and 2c5 (East and West Tower, ending with Epsilon).
If you manage to complete all stages in Episode 1 under 7 hours, you are rewarded a custom S Rank weapon; Episode 2 has a limit of 5 hours. If you happen to go over that time, you can redo any stages previously done to improve your time and therefore receive your S Rank. Each Episode has their own custom S Ranks you can receive; for example, in Episode 1 you could choose custom Mechguns, or for Episode 2 you could choose a Needle or a J Cutter (of course there are more for each Episode but those are some common examples). These S Ranks, however, do not have specials; to add a special you have to purchase this in the quest Gallon's shop by talking to Paganni (but first you have to complete the quest East Tower...or is it West Tower...I think it's East). Each special ranges in PD cost, with the highest being 60 pds.
I enjoy the game mode itself, simply because it's a break from having overpowered characters and blasting through everything; you have to take your time and understand some of the basic mechanics of PSO to succeed. It also encourages a lot of teamwork in your group, as a lot of puzzles require communication and patience. It's a bit daunting at first for newcomers but once you get in the swing of things and have played the maps a few times you learn to enjoy it.
And thanks tofuman and Laura.

 Re: What up, Eden!
Hi there, and thanks for the information. This has been very helpful. I figured out that C meant Challenge but thats all I knew. The whole concept is brilliant, however when I looked at the sentence that said "7 hours" I thought "WOW" and panicked a little, but hey I might even try this just for a change from the usual stuff. Especially for the prizes!!!!
Might even have to stay sober all day too LOL
Yes, I have done East and West Tower, talking to that dooood at the beginning of the quest and finding the computers, so now when I go to gallons shop I get more options than usual. I have never had an S-Rank of any kind so I got loads to earn and learn from here on !
Anyways, thanks again, can't wait to try this out now !

 Re: What up, Eden!
Yes, the prizes are great; I also forgot to mention that in Episode 1, the spawns are random for each room, as well as the number of spawns. Of course they're still only the enemies that normally spawn in that area, but still, it adds a bit of variety, as each run is just that much different. Episode 2 has set spawns though.
Also, adding a special to an S Rank is only featured on Equestria for the time being, as that's the only ship that has the new code used to exchange pds for specials in Gallon's shop.

 Re: What up, Eden!
Welcome to Eden! Amazing work you've done so far, Challenge mode is probably one of the more exciting aspects of PSO, and I thank you for bringing it to Eden!

 Re: What up, Eden!
Nice to have you on board, sir.
I'm really looking forward to being able to play c-mode again. I never was able to get too far through it, but I always had fun playing it.
